One of the most important things our founder, Rusi, knows is that you must store bags correctly to ensure their longevity.
Rusi says: “The perk of being a handbag designer is that you accumulate lots of samples and production bags that are used for fashion shoots, for research, trials, etc”
“I change bags every day, or sometimes twice/three times a day, depending on what I’m doing. I need quick access to them so I can grab and go, but still ensure that they maintain their shape.”
“You will see some recommendations on the internet that suggest you fill your bags with paper, bubble wrap or even old T-shirt’s or towels to ensure they keep their shape. This can be quite a time-consuming task .”
“If you have the patience you can always put some white acid-free tissue paper inside, but please don’t use old t-shirts or towels as you just don’t know how much humidity they have and after some time in storage they could give your bag a musty smell.”
“Do not forget dehumidifier! It’s vital to keep humidity out of your bags and clothes.”
Starting with shoulder bags this week, Rusi will show you some tips on how to store your bags in a safe way so they retain their shape and don’t get damaged.
